Mark Garbutt, naturalist and photographer, upcoming guest speaker

Mark Garbutt is a wildlife photographer with a special interest in birding. A lifetime spent as a naturalist in Alaska, Texas and Europe, Mark has settled in our area and will be the guest speaker at the Sunday, October 5 meeting of the Rideau Valley Field Naturalists.
Mark’s interest in wildlife has taken him around the world as a tour and workshop leader, volunteer interpreter, as well as leading weekend birding outings. He was selected as a semi-finalist in the BBC’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year in 2007, as well as having his photos published in ‘Focus on Africa’, a hardcover book highlighting the wildlife and lodges in Africa. Needless to say his knowledge is vast and his photos spectacular. These photos now include many from our area. Join the RVFN for an afternoon of wonderful nature photography, meet Mark and learn more about his weekend photography workshops and upcoming tours to Ecuador and Africa.
The general public is invited to join the RVFN for this meeting at 2 p.m., Sun., Oct.5, in the All-Purpose Room at the Perth and District Indoor Swimming Pool on Wilson Street at Sunset Boulevard. There is a small admission fee of $5.00 for non-members.
