Rideau Valley Field Naturalists

If you own a well, it is not only your responsibility to test it regularly for bacteria and other contaminants but also to maintain your well and protect your water supply.  On Sunday, Nov. 2nd, the Rideau Valley Field Naturalists’ guest speaker will be Susan Brandum of the Rideau Environmental Action League’s Well Aware Program.

Do you know how to spot potential problems and how to avoid them, how to do your own well walk-about, how to maintain a healthy well and septic system and how to minimize sources of contamination?  Too many residents in Lanark, Leeds and Grenville are dealing with contaminated water, or may be in the near future if they don’t take care of their wells now.  The Well Aware Program can help you protect and preserve groundwater through well stewardship, water conservation, contamination reduction to ground and surface water and best management practises.

Learn how you can protect your most valuable asset.  Attend this presentation, sponsored by the Rideau Valley Field Naturalists, at 2 p.m., Sun., Nov. 2nd, in the All-Purpose Room at the Perth and District Indoor Swimming Pool on Wilson Street at Sunset Boulevard.   There is a small admission fee of $5.00 for non-RVFN members.
